  4. Neighborhood Meeting for Proposed Assisted Living Facility at 16900 Smokey Point Blvd

    City of Arlington’s Community and Economic Development Department, Planning and Land Use Division, will hold an informal Neighborhood Meeting regarding the proposed construction of a 3-story assisted living facility with a single-story memory care wing northeast of the Smokey Point Blvd. and 169th Street intersection by RJ Development. The facility includes 77 assisted living units and 19 memory care units on a 2.56 acres site including 54 stalls of surface parking. The building will be a complimentary use to the Affinity at Arlington senior independent living community directly to the east. The purpose of this informal meeting is to allow members of the public and other interested parties an opportunity to become involved early on in the permitting process and to help identify any concerns or issues the public has regarding this specific proposal. At this meeting, the public will have an opportunity to ask questions, review plans, and voice any concerns they may have.

  2. Friendship Walk 5K and Car Wash

    The Friendship Walk & 5K Run is open to runners of all levels. The trail is flat and fast with limited elevation changes. The path is picturesque, with large portions of the run surrounded by an umbrella of trees and scenic views. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top overall male and female finishers (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place) as well as the top overall one-mile walk finisher. Every penny raised goes to fund and support Voices of the Village, a client-based performance ensemble band affiliated with Village Community Services, a 501c3 non-profit organization that supports individuals living with disabilities.
