Arlington City Council will return to virtual meetings, in response to the increase in COVID-19 cases. Council made the decision to return to online meetings beginning with next week’s meeting, Monday, September 13, 2021, after they had resumed to in-person meetings July 6, 2021. Planning Commission, Airport Commission, and other City boards and commissions will all meet remotely, as well. Unfortunately, the dangers of the Delta variant of COVID-19 has compelled many governments to reverse reopening.
Councilmember Debora Nelson stated, “I want everyone to stay healthy. That’s my goal through this. I’m in favor of going back to online meetings for the good of us all. We were able to do business and communicate very well online.”
City Council, Planning Commission, and Airport Commission meetings may be viewed live or recorded on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/cityofarlingtonwashington. Members of the public who wish to provide public comment through Zoom, or in writing, are required to complete a registration form prior to each meeting. Instructions are available on the City’s website at https://www.arlingtonwa.gov/agendacenter.
