Yvonne Gallardo-Van Ornam to Fill Vacant Seat on Arlington City Council

Yvonne Gallardo-Van Ornam will be sworn in as City Councilmember on June 27, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. 

She was selected from 10 applicants who were interviewed by City Council on June 7, for vacant position No. 6 (term expires January 1, 2024), left when Councilmember Mike Hopson passed away in April.

Yvonne Gallardo-Van Ornam has been an Arlington Planning Commissioner since April, 2020, and will be vacating that role for the City Council seat.  

“I am committed to serving with honor and a high level of professionalism. I will work hard to be the kind of councilmember the City of Arlington deserves and that will make my family proud,” she said.
