Seeking Citizens to create Pro/Con Statements for Transportation Benefit Funding Vote

The City of Arlington is seeking volunteers to serve on a pro or con committee to create pro and con statements for the extension of Arlington’s Transportation Benefit District funding, for inclusion in the local voters' pamphlet.  Please submit a letter of interest that includes your name, phone number and email by Monday, Nov. 28 to City of Arlington, Administration, 238 N Olympic Avenue, Arlington, WA 98223 or by email to .

Pro and Con Statements are limited to 250 words and will be due Dec. 22.

Voters inside the City of Arlington created the Transportation Benefit District in 2013 and authorized a 0.2% sales tax increase.  This sales tax must be approved by the voters every ten years. On election day of Feb. 14, 2023, voters can consider the extension of the sales tax for the purposes of neighborhood traffic calming, pavement preservation, transportation safety improvements, and transportation capital improvements included in the City’s Transportation Improvement Plans.
