Retired, 30 years in the purchasing field, as well as contract negotiations and management, and budget management.

Education

Attended Kindergarten through 12th grade at Arlington Schools.

Continued college education at Everett Community College taking classes in law enforcement, history of law enforcement, history, biology, and math.

Shoreline Community College - studied purchasing, materials management, and contract administrations and negotiations. 



Family

Born to Don Sr. and mother Norine. Mother attended school in Arlington. Parents met while my father was stationed at Jim Creek Naval Station. One of six children. Wife Kathy and Don live in parent’s prior home along with brother, Jerry.

Hobbies

Camping, hiking, fishing, and anything outdoors, as well as spending time with family and friends.

Community Involvement and Affiliations

  • 40 plus years of volunteering with Washington State Special Olympics as a coach and mentor.
  • Certificate of Municipal Leadership through the Association of Washington Cities.
  • Advanced Certificate of Municipal Leadership through the Association of Washington Cities.
  • Serves on the Snohomish County Regional Law and Justice Council.
  • Served on Arlington Retirees LEOFF 1 Disability Board.
  • Served on the SNOTRAC Transportation Executive committee, Vice President for the Board of Directors. 
  • Prior Council Liaison for the Airport Commission. 
  • Serves on the National League of Cities (NLC) Federal Public Safety and Crime Prevention Committee.
