[ARCHIVED] Arlington Mourns the Passing of Retired Police Chief Steve Robinson

Retired Police Chief Steve Robinson

It is with great sadness that we report retired Arlington Police Chief Steve Robinson passed away peacefully this last weekend after his long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.

Chief Robinson started his law enforcement career with the Tukwila Police Department in 1973, working his way up through the ranks to Assistant Chief, before accepting the job as Arlington's Top Cop in 1990. Chief Robinson retired from the Arlington Police Department in 2001, but his positive influence and impact can still be seen throughout the City of Arlington and Arlington Police Department to this day.

Steve was a dedicated husband, father and public servant showing his commitment to the community beyond policing as an active member of the Rotary Club of Arlington, Smokey Point Community Church and served as a chairman with the Snohomish County Children's Commission.

There will be a memorial service for Chief Robinson at 1:00 PM, Friday September 28, 2018 at the Smokey Point Community Church in Arlington, WA. The service will be attended by family and is open to the public. Smokey Point Community Church is located at 17721 Smokey Point Blvd, Arlington, WA 98223.

In remembrance of Steve and his imprint on the City of Arlington, Mayor Barb Tolbert has directed flags at all City buildings to be lowered to half-staff on Friday, September 28, 2018. Flags will remain at half-staff until close of business or sunset on September 28, 2018.
