Smokey Point Community Park Project
The park is now open to all!
Click HERE for reservations for park facilities.
Located in the heart of Smokey Point at 17903 Smokey Point Blvd, the park is approximately 1.8 acres in size. The park will consist of a beautiful plaza area with catenary lighting, hardscaping, local art features and a unique stage with architectural features perfect for entertainment activities. A Nordmann Fir holiday tree will highlight the landscaping area along the entrance to the park near Smokey Point Blvd.
Elements of Smokey Point Community Park provide a glimpse into the local history of the area. A walking track of approximately 1/8 mile was designed as a nod towards the Lark Haven Stables thoroughbred farm which housed 15 racehorses and a half mile racetrack that was prominent in the 1940's. Other historical landmarks in Smokey Point’s past such as Rex’s Corner, The Smoky Point Café, and the Washington Co-Operative Chick Association will also play a large part in the artwork slated for the Plaza and in areas around the park.

The heart of the park project, to be constructed in Phase II, will be the all-inclusive playground located at the east end of the park. Every child deserves a safe and joyful place to play. Our vision is to build a park that goes beyond the ordinary, a place where kids with diverse needs can thrive side by side. The playground is designed to be Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant, ensuring that every child, regardless of their abilities, can enjoy the space.
- Inclusivity: Our park will break down barriers and provide sensory-rich, age appropriate, and multi-generational social play for all. Children with physical, sensory, or cognitive differences will have equal access to play structures, swings, and interactive features.
- Community Bonding: Families, friends, and neighbors will come together in this shared space to enjoy integrated activities that encourage exploration, problem solving, and discovery. It’s a chance to build connections, celebrate diversity, and create lasting memories.
- Health and Well-Being: Outdoor play is essential for children’s physical and mental health. Developmentally balanced, dynamic activities promote physical activity and gross motor development skills. Let’s provide a space where kids can run, climb, and explore freely.
Park Amenities at a Glance:
- Two Inclusive Play Areas: The Playground will feature two designated play areas for children aged 2-5 and 5-12 years, respectively.
- Communication Signs: Placement of a Symbol Communication Sign at the entrance to create an effective way for non-verbal, speech-challenged, and early-learning individuals to communicate with friends and caregivers.

- 1/8 Mile Walking Track
- Stage for entertainment activities
- Restrooms
