2020 Utility and Pavement Preservation Projects

Project Description

The City of Arlington will be continuing to upgrade its waterlines in the Old Town Arlington area in 2020.  This project will include replacement of old waterlines followed by repaving of selected roadways, as well as updates to ADA pedestrian crossing ramps. The project will also include paving of select streets in the Smokey Point Area.

Project Updates

  • 6/25/2020 - Contract awarded to JB Asphalt
  • July 27th - Construction to begin
  • Week of August 3rd -  Curb work being done on the west side of Stillaguamish Ave. Expect pedestrian detours
  • Week of August 10th - Curb and sidewalk replacement on east side of Stillaguamish Ave, water main installation on Stillaguamish Ave from 1st to 3rd, and Robinhood Dr - NO PARKING on street during this week. Grinding and Paving of Smokey Point Blvd from north of 185th Pl to 188th St
  • Week of August 17th -  Water main installation and road work will continue on Stillaguamish Ave from 2nd to 3rd Street and Robinhood Dr. There will be NO PARKING on the street during this week.
  • Week of August 24th - Curb and sidewalk replacement will continue in the old town neighborhoods. Water main tie ins and roadwork will continue in the Stillaguamish Ave area.
  • Week of September 7th - The contractor will be finishing up services on Robinhood Dr.
  • September 1Catch basin work started on E 4th Street and N Clara.
  • Week of September 14 - Curb and stormwater system upgrades will continue on 1st and Hamlin, as well as the completion of the water main installation on Robinhood Dr. Grinding and repaving of the road will be done on 43rd Ave NE.
  • Week of September 28th - The contractor will be finishing up the services on 4th and Clara this week.  They will also be grinding and paving Stillaguamish Ave and 1st St west of Stillaguamish Ave. 
  • Week of October 5th -  The Contractor has made an update to the schedule and will now be grinding Stillaguamish, 2nd, Alcazar, 4th and Clara.  They will also be resurface Stillaguamish, permanent lane striping of Smokey Point Blvd and 43rd Ave., and start the water main on E Maple and Hamlin. Park Hill will now be done later in the project. 
  • Week of October 19th - This week the Contractor plans on finishing the water main and tie-ins on 4th, Clara, and Alcazar. They will start laying the new water pipe on Hamlin and Maple, and finish paving Stillaguamish and 2nd weather permitting.
